It was a great idea, but...

I know things are pretty heavy, and my writing certainly reflects that, but there's certainly more stuff to write about than how hard it is to wait. :) So here's one of those things...

The hospital is well-decorated—brightly painted and cheery in many places, helping kids and families not feel as drab as many hopsitals look. The main lobby especially is very well done. But there's one area that they maybe didn't think through enough...

The pic below is from the middle elevator of a set of three. Every time I come off the elevator to the right of this one—which I do to go to the car, or to Second Cup (yeah, there's a Second Cup in the lobby, the Starbucks is just outside...I'll have to tell you about today's Starbucks issue later)—I get off that car, turn to my right, and immediately have a small heart attack every single time. Because this kid is there. He's a larger-than-life-size, well-painted kid that freaks me right out. I swear I think I'm going to be attacked by a mutant 10 year old every time I come off the elevator.

Note to self: always pick the middle elevator. Save yourself from needing to get a ride up the street to VGH.
